Bluebird Tea Co. Advent Calendar — Day 9 — Snowball Tea Bag

The weather is getting colder and today's tea reflects that - it's the Snowball tea bag.

Ingredients: Ceylon black tea, coconut pieces, cacao bean, cocoa shells, desiccated coconut, mini marshmallows (glucose-fructose syrup, sugar, gelatine, maize starch, flavouring, colour (E162)), chocolate chips (sugar, cacao, emulsifier soya lecithin), red cornflowers, flavour.

They describe it thus:

The chocolatey, marshmallow, coconut goodness of a gooey Snowball is one of the best sweet treats of Christmas and this year it is award-winning too! Our most famous Christmas tea blend scooped a Great Taste Award this year for its chocolate chips in plenty, coconut flakes in tons and a sprinkle of mini marshmallows to finish it off- The perfect Christmas Snowball.

This tea is one of Bluebird's Limited Edition Christmas teas and they also do a vegan version of it for those of you who can't have the marshmallows in this version.

As you'll be aware by now I really detest the taste (and smell) of coconut and so I am unable and unwilling to try this tea so there is currently no review for it. However, I will take the tea bag into work on Monday and hopefully, find someone who is willing to try it for me and provide a review.

If you've already tried this tea, please feel free to leave a comment about it.

I will update this post once I get a review.

UPDATE

So, I managed to find someone at work who was willing to try the tea bag and what follows is their review. My thanks to the lovely Olivia who, fortunately, absolutely loves coconut and, I believe takes her tea without milk or sugar.

"The Bluebird Co.'s ‘Snowball’ tea has the initial warmth of the chocolate, with a lovely toasted marshmallow flavour in the middle, and then lifted by fresh coconut notes at the end. I would say that this tea primarily tastes of coconut and is great for tropical lovers, but with the indulgent twist of chocolate, it gives a Bounty-like flavour. Highly recommended."

You can't get better than that! If you like coconut, go try it for yourself.
